The America250KY Spencer County Committee may be small, but we are a dedicated and hardworking group committed to making sure Spencer County is part of the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026.
Working as a subcommittee of Taylorsville–Spencer County Tourism, our committee has been actively planning, collaborating, and building momentum for meaningful local participation in this once-in-a-generation celebration.

What We’re Working On
Our focus is simple: celebrate our community, honor our history, and bring people together.
Right now, we are helping plan the Spencer County America250 July 4, 2026 celebration!
Our main focus has been the identifying of Revolutionary War veterans related to Spencer County. As of now, we have more than 70 and with the help of a private donor will be revealing a beautiful permanent memorial to them on Main Street on July 4th, 2026.
One of our key initiatives is a digital history project for Spencer County, designed to preserve and share the stories, people, and places that make our community unique. This project will help ensure our local history is accessible and celebrated for years to come.
Our other key initiative has been the finding and restoring of antique cemeteries in the county. Contact us for a private tour!
In addition, we continue to support and coordinate historic and civic events, partnerships, and community engagement opportunities leading up to 2026.
